Literacy assessments encompass various handwriting, reading, spelling and writing evaluations using the THRASS and VCOP approaches. During these sessions, we conduct the following assessments:

🌳 The Handwriting Test

🌳 The Word Recognition Test

🌳 The Grapheme Test

🌳 The Phonographic Test

🌳 Recount Writing VCOP Baseline Test 

These assessments are designed and best suited for students aged between 4 and 8.  We understand that some students, especially younger ones, may find it difficult to focus for long periods of time. If this applies to your child, we can split the session into 60-minute segments over two days. 

After purchasing this service, you will be contacted by Miss Fifi to arrange a suitable time slot for your child. 

What is THRASS?

THRASS is a phonetic teaching-tool that represents the phonics of whole language. It is a system for teaching learners of any age about the building blocks of reading and spelling - the 44 phonemes (speech sounds) of spoken English and the graphemes (spelling choices) of written English. As a learning and teaching strategy, THRASS is fun, systematics, explicit and linguistically correct.

What is VCOP?

The VCOP writing program is a methodology for raising the standards in writing across all ages and ability levels. It seeks to address the reasons why there are falling standards in writing. We use the VCOP Australian Criterion Scale to assess your child's writing abilities.
